BE INFORMED
Welcome to the COMPPASS Registry resource page. We’re here to provide support and information to parents and caregivers of children affected by perinatal invasive Group B Streptococcus (iGBS). Below, you’ll find detailed information about neurodevelopmental impairment (NDI), developmental milestones, and the domains covered by validated surveys used in our Registry. These resources are designed to help you better understand and navigate your child’s development and care.

UNDERSTANDING NEURODEVELOPMENTAL IMPAIRMENT (NDI)
Neurodevelopmental impairments (NDI) are long-term health effects that can arise from neonatal iGBS. These impairments may impact various aspects of a child’s development, including:

-
Motor Skills: Challenges with movement, coordination, and physical tasks.
-
Cognitive Development: Difficulties with thinking, learning, and problem-solving.
-
Speech and Language: Delays or impairments in communication abilities.
-
Behavioral and Emotional Development: Struggles with self-regulation, attention, and emotional responses.

Understanding these areas can help caregivers identify potential concerns early and seek appropriate interventions.
KEY DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONES
Developmental milestones are behaviors or physical skills seen in infants and children as they grow. While every child develops at their own pace, monitoring milestones can help identify areas where additional support may be needed.
